Michigan Dept. of Environment, Great Lakes, and EnergyThis layer was developed by EGLE's Wetlands, Lakes, and Streams Unit (WLSU) to inventory the cities, townships, and other municipalities that have a local wetland ordinance in place. These ordinances are typically more restrictive than State Wetland Protection laws, and provide enhanced control to local communities to restrict wetland development and impact. This layer was produced by combining the different municipal boundaries for the cities, villages, and townships that currently have a local wetland ordinance in place.
