Walton Family Foundation - MAV Water-quality / Reforestation Model - [U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service] {2017}
Description
FOR non-AGOL ACCOUNT HOLDERS, DOWNLOAD THIS GEOSPATIAL DATA IN VECTOR FORMAT HERE:https://gis-fws.opendata.arcgis.com/search?tags=lmvjvThe Walton Family Foundation Water-Quality Reforestation Model was created by the Lower Mississippi Valley Joint Venture partnership as an intersection between two high-priority needs for the Mississippi Alluvial Valley (MAV). The modeling exercise pinpoints geographic locations of potential restoration that could potentially return multiple wetland functions by identifying the places where aquatic sediments and pollutants might be most easily "captured" through the reintroduction of bottomland hardwood habitats (i.e. reforestation, afforestation) on active, but marginal agricultural lands. By restoring these wetlands within high-priority forest breeding bird restoration areas, it is hoped that the benefits of both wetland functions (water quality, bird habitat) will be restored. Created for Walton Family Foundation by the Lower MS Valley Joint Venture - 2017.
