Pierce County, WashingtonThe data represents the Pierce County Council Districts Boundaries for elections through 2021. The County Council Districts were adopted on July 12, 2011 by the Pierce County Districting Committee which is appointed by the Pierce County Council. Redistricting is done once every ten years based on census data. The 2010 census population data was used to adjust the district boundaries. Redistricting is the process of changing district boundaries so that each district is nearly equal in population. Redistricting is covered in the Washington State Legislature Chapter 29A.76RCW. Pierce County is made up of seven council districts. Once council person is elected from each district that represents at the county level.
