Together with partners and willing landowners, the Land Conservation Initiative aims to protect 65,000 acres of land in King County before 2050, of which 45,000 acres are targeted for easement or fee acquisition. This layer tracks parcels acquired either by King County or with grant funding assistance from King County. This layer does not indicate properties available for public access. Many conservation easements are recorded on private property and are not open to the public but instead are protected to support environmental, resiliency, or health goals.
