The Historic Photos Collection, dating from the 1910s to 1940s, is our oldest set of geological photographs. It contains original large-format individual black-and-white negatives of our earliest fieldwork and other geologically relevant subjects, many of areas or objects that essentially no longer exist in their original form or are no longer accessible because of modern infrastructure and other changes, such as encroaching trees and vegetation.
