Abstract
This data layer represents addresses for Rock County, Wisconsin in 2014. It is a feature class within the geodatabase, “Rock_Addresses_2014.gdb”. [The address point feature class was created to assist 911 telecommunicators in locating wireless E911 callers. Sources include: current aerial photography, NAIP aerial mosaic imagery, parcel maps, limited GPS collection and physical verification when necessary.]
Purpose
This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [A current, uniform address point data file that includes all cities, towns and villages within Rock County is needed to identify addressed structures, which includes but is not limited to: residences, businesses, parks, landmarks, cemeteries, technology structures. This data set is to be used only as a resource since GPS data collection for every address point is not feasible. This data file is updated as necessary.]
