UN Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT)**UNOSAT code FL20230807LAO** This map illustrates cumulative satellite-detected surface waters over Khammouan & Savannakhet Provinces, Lao PDR as oberved from a Sentinel-1 image acquired on 04 August 2023 at 18:04 local time. Within the analysed area of about 25,000 km², a total of about 160 km² of lands appear to be flooded. Based on Worldpop population data and the detected surface waters in the analysed area, ~18,000 people are potentially exposed or living close to flooded areas.
